BUECHEL-PAPPAS™ SHOULDER REPLACEMENT SYSTEM - PRIMARY

Humeral Stem

The Buechel-Pappas™ Total Shoulder is a time-tested System which is the result of more than twenty-five years of development, clinical investigation, and use. The Humeral Stem is a derivative of stems in successful clinical use since 1978. The Glenoid Component has been in clinical use in its present form since 1982.
  • Three Humeral Head sizes (44, 48, and 52mm), and four Humeral Stem sizes (8, 10, 12, and 14mm) provide twelve combinations for proper patient fit. Humeral Head Offsets in four sizes (+2.5mm, 5mm, 7.5mm and 10mm) provide for proper tissue tensioning.
  • Titanium alloy provides superior mechanical compatibility and eliminates metal sensitivities. Use of similar materials for the head and stem eliminates corrosion seen clinically with the use of Cobalt Chrome (Co-Cr) head and Titanium stems.
  • Straight, cylindrical stem allows simple, accurate, humeral preparation and tight component fit, with absence of distal torsional restriction.
  • Ceramic UltraCoat® coating on the Humeral Head reduces joint friction and both plastic and metallic wear debris resulting from micro-motion at the implant interface.
  • Optional proximal BioCoat® porous coating provides enhanced fixation.
  • Proximal fins provide enhanced torsional resistance.
Glenoid Component
  • Anatomical platform provides optimal coverage without overhang; Designs are available in both metal backed and all-poly versions.
  • Minimal glenoid resection and disruption maintains maximum bone stock for improved fixation. Thicker Glenoid Bearings (2.5mm and 5mm) are available to aid in reconstructing the joint line.
  • Optional screws enhance Glenoid Component stabilization.
  • Flexible projections provide secure retention of the Bearing in the walled cavity of the metallic Glenoid Component.
  • Simple digital installation.
  • Glenoid sizes - size 1 to 4.
  • Thicker Glenoid Bearings (2.5 and 5mm) are available to aid in reconstructing the joint line.
